19 April 2008 | The Way I Blog | 5 People Walking With Me
I achieved my Weight Watchers Lifetime Membership on Thursday (and didn’t even have to live on a diet of dust). I’m feeling pretty proud of myself. I’d still like to lose another 5.5kg just to reach my own personal goal, but I’m happy with how I am right now. I managed to commit to a weightloss program and have made a difference to how I feel and look. I’ve dropped 2 dress sizes…well 2 and a half really so I’m finding it difficult to find a pair of jeans that actually fit.
The other good thing about WW is that I managed to get a part-time job. I met a lovely couple there who run an eBay business and I got 2 days a week to help with packing things up for posting. I’ve only worked 3 days so far but am enjoying it.
The Druid is turning 40 on Tuesday and has the week off. I’m looking forward to having uninterrupted conversations with him and watching movies with swearing in them while Old Mate is at school. It’s gonna be good. LOL!
24 March 2008 | The Way I Blog | 3 People Walking With Me
That’s what I’ve been doing lately. I hurt my back (right between my shoulder blades) about 2 weeks ago and since then I’ve had trouble moving my arms and neck, and it’s been hard to find a comfortable position to sit or lie in. Therefore, apart from being tired and in pain, I haven’t been doing much sitting at the computer or walking in the park. I still haven’t got much time to sit at the computer as we’re supposed to be having visitors today, but I am hoping to get back to the park.
My last trip to the park was a complete dud. The three of us went to the optometrist for our annual check ups and then to the park. By the time we got there the toilets were locked and I really had to pee, plus the battery on my MP3 player was dead. So my walk didn’t last long before I headed for home…in a hurry!
My Weight Watchers commitment took a bit of a battering this weekend. In case you hadn’t noticed the shops have lately been overflowing with Easter Eggs. Not only are they attractive (mmm…shiny…oooh…pretty….) but they contain chocolate. Chocolate should not get in my way.

And came up with this:
I’d done most of the bits and pieces ages ago and threw them together this morning. My muse has been hanging around a lot lately, but she’s getting peeved at how little time I get to spend pixeling. She’ll disappear again soon, I’m sure.
1 March 2008 | The Way I Blog | 2 People Walking With Me
The first morning of March is feeling pretty autumnal. The sun’s shining here, but there’s a crispness to the air. I think Old Mate was expecting to go out and play in piles of leaves today. I love the way kids’ minds work.
Lately I’ve basically been in blinkers. Not a chance to look at the world around me. Plus I’ve had a few minor problems with migraines, a bad case of tonsilitis and my email account has been stuffed (both inbound and outbound). I’m working on that though, so if you’ve emailed me in the last couple of weeks and not heard back, I either didn’t get your mail or you didn’t get mine.
I’ve also purchased a new domain Whimsy Grove and am hoping to get some time to play with it.
I went walking yesterday for the first time in ages. There’s only one pair of pantyhose left in the rose garden so it now looks like someone just had a quickie on the way home from the pub.
I tried interval walking yesterday and quite enjoyed it. I was using my MP3 player to judge the time, though, and it’s very difficult to read the numbers in sunlight. I might have to invest in a walking watch.
My weightloss is going well. I’ve lost 12.5kg (27.5lb) since October and would like to lose another 6.5kg. I’m pretty sure that any more than that is too much.
I was going to write more but my mobile phone is beeping to let me know I have a text message and it’s making the dog cry. She’s a bit sensitive.

I know it’s not unusual to use pantyhose to tie plants to stakes. Any gardening program will tell you to use them. It’s just weird to see a whole lot of pantyhose hanging around the rose garden in the park, complete with gussets. It looks like some sort of bizarre orgy has taken place and the park keepers haven’t got around to tidying up.
Hiya Meags! *smooch* Thought I’d let you know that a Pink Floyd friend of ours is going to YouTube The Druid’s episode of The Einstein Factor so you’ll get to see it eventually. I’ve told The Druid that I won’t be talking to him this Valentine’s Day because he gets to fly on a plane to Melbourne, while the furthest I’ve ever been is Sydney. Not fair! LOL!
Oooh, Kate! Before I forget: there are lots of sites around about building a faerie garden. It should be designed to attract faeries so you need lots of herbs/trees/flowers that faeries like (best to check if they’re child & pet friendly too), some faerie houses and furniture, maybe an offering stone. That sort of thing. It’s going to be hard to do here because it’s just so dry most of the time, but we’re going to give it a go.

The Druid got a call from The Einstein Factor today with suggested dates for going on the show. Hopefully the other two competitors they have lined up agree to the dates, then it’s full speed ahead for filming on February 14th. His topic is the Life & Works of Roger Waters, and The Druid got 20/20 in his interview with the shows producers back in November. Fingers crossed!
Waving to Kate, Kev and Janette (my Janetter)! It’s great to ’see’ you guys! I’m amazed people still stumble across this blog. LOL!
Now I just need one of you to stumble across my house and adopt my son. He’s driving me CRAZY! Today was grocery shopping day, so that didn’t help. It’s frustrating that Old Mate just had his birthday in December, then Christmas and was nagging me to buy toys when I barely had enough money for groceries. Not only that but I wanted to keep $30 aside so I could actually afford my anti-depressants. I didn’t actually manage to do that so I’ll have to use the almost-maxed credit card to get my prescription. I can’t put it off anymore.
The Druid just got home from work, so I’d better get my walking shoes on! I warned him that the minute he walked through the door I was outta here. LOL! I can’t wait to get to the park and walk in the rain.

So far I’ve been sticking to my eating and exercise plan, but the housework side of things has suffered. Admittedly I was out for most of today. We took Old Mate to the shops, then to see Bee Movie, then to the library, then to McDonalds, then to Deb’s house. After that I went walking in the park and I’m just about to get dinner and fall into bed.
The movie was ok. Not fantastic but still pleasant enough to take a five-year-old to. The animation was pretty and The Druid and I had a few chuckles. Old Mate was so well behaved. It was quite a shock. *g*
The park was lovely today. It had just rained when I got there so everything was fresh and cool which made me feel happy and invigorated.
The Druid has suggested making a faerie garden just outside the office window and I’ve got all sorts of ideas going through my head. I wonder if any of them are actually the same as his ideas. *lol* Time will tell….
